Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, was recently selected to be a Florida delegate at the Republican National Convention this summer. The Florida Republican Party chose Barron to serve as an at-large delegate, scheduled to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The 18-year-old soon-to-be high school graduate joins other prominent conservative figures representing the Florida Republican Party, such as Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Fox News commentator Kimberly Guilfoyle, and former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.Chairman of the Florida Republican Party, Evan Power, released a statement about the chosen delegates that will represent the organization. The chairman particularly noted the honor of having Trump’s family members work for the delegation.
“We are fortunate to have a great group of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family working together as part of the Florida delegation to the 2024 Republican National Convention,” he said.According to recent reports from an insider familiar with the Trump family, the six-foot-seven son of the GOP frontrunner has impressive knowledge for an 18-year-old, serving as a strong foundation for his political aspirations. “Barron is handsome, tall – taller even than his father – and very knowledgeable for someone his age. He’s also far more politically interested than people realize,” the source told DailyMail.com.
The insider suggested that Barron possesses all the makings of a “future President” if he chooses to pursue such a path. “I see all the attributes of a future President if he has the appetite for it. And why not? He has the Trump genes,” he said.
As Barron was relatively young during the days of his father’s first administration, he was largely kept out of the public eye, protected by his mother from the harsh political climate. “While he was still a minor she zealously protected him and we knew very little about the details of his daily life,” the insider continued.
However, as Barron gets older, he is making progressively more public appearances, recently becoming the topic of many headlines in the media. “I think he’s allowed to make more decisions for himself now. He can invite anyone to dinner he wishes. He’s slowly becoming more public,” the source added.Barron is set to graduate from the prestigious Oxbridge Academy in Florida. The American Tribune recently reported on the controversy surrounding the hush money trial, where it was previously uncertain if Trump could attend Barron’s graduation ceremony later this month.
“(Barron’s) a great student and he’s very proud of the fact he did so well and was looking forward for years to having his graduation with his mother and father there, and it looks like the judge isn’t going to allow me to escape this scam. It’s a scam trial,” Trump stated in April.
However, Judge Merchan eventually granted Trump permission to attend the May 17 graduation date. “I don’t think the May 17 date is a problem,” Merchan announced to the court late last month. Trump has been highly critical of Judge Merchan, suggesting he is “badly conflicted” in what amounts to a “hoax” of a trial.
